On Februrary 15th, Microsoft officially announced on their Xbox podcast and twitter page, that diablo 4 would be coming to Game Pass for both Console and PC.
This marks the first Blizzard game to arrive on the subscription service, since Microsoft acquired them on January 18th 2022 and finalized the deal on October 13th 2023
Sarah Bond, Xbox President, confirmed that Activision Blizzard games were going to start coming to Game Pass starting with diablo IV March 28th.
Bringing a game like Diablo 4 to Game pass makes alot of sense business wise, as the move could open the door to a lot of people, who would not have picked the game up otherwise. The first DLC expansion is set to launch at the end of this year titled “Vessel of Hatred,” it will include a new class, a new location and more. With how easy it will be for both returning fans and new fans alike to dive into this game, this could net Blizzard a happy sum of new customers.
